Poppy is about as sweet and friendly as they come. She use to be Pony-Tail's best friend but PTL has now buddied up with Shimmy so we are now offering Poppy for sale to reduce our herd to a more manageable number. Poppy is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile, hoof trimmings and de-wormings. She has a negative coggins report dated 11/10/11.

Photos above taken on August 30th, 2010. The sun went out just as we started taking photos and did not come back out until we had turned Poppy loose and she had rolled herself into a mud ball. We will try for better photos another day! Thank you to Maria Randell for handling Poppy for her photo session!

Poppy was with Heza Brick House  from 10/02/11 thru 11/06/11. We last observed her in season on 10/02 so, hopefully, she will foal in October of 2012. She is selling as exposed but not guaranteed as it is to early to test for positive preganancy and this would be her first foal and the jack's first foal that she was bred to. The jack is very young and inexperienced so we are not sure he is yet successfully settling jennets in foal. We have separated our jacks for the winter as it is too cold in this area to be having foals any later in the year. Only time will tell if Poppy is in foal. We will discount her price if you purchase two or more of our donkeys. We will gladly let you make payments...just ask!

Sheena is one of our smallest plus sweetest jennets. The photos above of Sheena were taken at the age of 20 right after she had foaled her 12th baby, Heart Strings. We exposed Sheena to Windcrest Firefly all summer long this year and she kept coming back in season. We think she may want to retire from the baby business. We might place her in a pet home if we can find one good enough for her. Sheena is a very special jennet and we have had her longer than any other donkey on our place. If we can't find the perfect home for her she can just live her life out here at Half Ass Acres.

Sheena is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile and Botulism. She has a negative coggins report dated 1/09/12. She has recently had her teeth floated. She is super easy to catch and handle. We want her to go to a special pet home where she will get individual attention and be loved on daily. Sheena still has a long life ahead of her as donkeys may live up to 40 years or even longer! Penny, our oldest jennet, is over 35 and still going strong. We think she is going to outlive even us!

We had Sheena tested for pregnancy on 1/3/12, by an exterior ultra-sound machine used by a veterinarian and she tested negative.

She is the dam of the following foals:

1) Half Ass Acres Whitney Houston,9/19/93, brown jennet;
2) Half Ass Acres Michael Jordon, 9/19/94, brown/gray jack;
3) Half Ass Acres James Brown, light red jack foaled in 1995;

Sired by our own red herd sire, Firefly, and out of a spotted grand daughter of My World Winston, we just had to add this unique jennet to our future brood jennet band. Candy is small and stocky, a hard-to-get combination, with an adorable small head. She will be a great match for either Pepper or Bruise when she is old enough for breeding after her fourth birthday. Photos above were taken on 9/26/10, one day after she was body clipped. Thank you to my great friend, Dena Wilson, who is helping me take updated photos of all of our donkeys. What a super great friend I have found!  Heat or cold she is always ready to go and never complains. Plus she is so patient with the donkeys!!

Nellie Blue came to us all the way from Texas with her stablemate, Sweet Sophie, when a rancher went out of the donkey business. Nellie is very heavy boned with a wide chest and a huge round rear. She has been hand bred to Black 'n' Blue for an October 25th, 2012 foal. We have not seen her come back in season but it is too early to test for pregnancy so she is selling as exposed but not guaranteed in foal.  Nellie use to be a little shy but now she is becoming so friendly that she follows us everywhere. Nellie is best friends with Sweet Sophie (see below) so special pricing allowance will be given if you take these two best friends together. Sophie was bred to our dark jack, Black 'n' Blue, for a foal due next year on October 27th, 2012.  She has not come back into season but it is too early to test for pregnancy so she is selling as exposed but not guaranteed. We just love the Trenton line and Tilly is a daughter of Trenton. This line produces such great legs on their foals! Tilly is as sweet as they come and easy to catch and handle. Tilly has a beautiful spot pattern with the black/brown spots that are so popular now.  She has wonderful conformation with a beautiful short wide head. We also have Tilly's daughter, Windcrest Autumn Sunrise, and her third generation granddaughter, KKR Pocketful of Poseys, in our herd now. They both have absolutely outstanding conformation just like their mom, Tilly. We really hate to part with Tilly but we must reduce our herd to be able to give our donkeys the individual attention that they crave. We are offering some of our bred jennets to reduce our work load during foaling season next year and also to make room for our foals we have kept over the past couple of year. Tilly is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile and Botulism.  She has a negative coggins report dated 11/10/11. She is guaranteed safe in foal for next year! Tilly has also been DNA typed at Texas A&M University.

Tilly has been hand bred to Windcrest Firefly for her next foal due March 16th, 2012.

She has produced the following foals that we are aware of:

1) Windcrest Little Rio, 5/22/00, dark spotted jack;
2) Windcrest Autumn Sunrise, 9/18/01, very dark brown jennet;
3) KKR ShowKase, 1/06/06, black jack;
4) KKR Gone Hollywood, 4/9/07, dark brown jennet;
5) KKR Fortune Cookie, 9/11/08, dark brown jennet;
6) KKR Cute To Boot, 5/25/10, brown & white spotted jennet.

Dory was trained as a youngster by Kathy Loudamy at K&K Ranch in Texas and Kathy taught her how to  be a perfect lady in performing obstacle trail and halter classes. Dory is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile, hoof trims and de-worming. She is easy to catch and handle and she has been microchipped. Dory has a negative coggins report dated 6/03/11.

Update 1/28/11! Photos above taken on January 28th, 2011, in her winter coat. Imagine what she will look like body clipped this summer. Thank you to Dena Wilson for handling Dory during her new photo shoot!

Update 4/12/11! Dory has been hand bred to Windcrest Firefly, our 30 ½" dark red herd sire with a large star, for an April 12th, 2012, foal.  Dory is positively guaranteed safe in foal! Her new foal will positively be red as red is a recessive gene and when you bred red to red you always produce red!

Update 5/14/11! Dory has been body clipped and new photos and videos are now posted. Dory loves to go, go, go...she would be an excellent performance donkey in harness or in hand. She loves to run beside you and would be a wonderful lead race performer! Dory's registration papers have her height at 32¼" but she is measuring closer to 32¾" tall. The new videos and photos were taken one day after Dory was body clipped. She will turn much darker and redder in a few weeks.

Dory is the dam of one foal:

1) Flight of Fancy Kiowa's Standing Ovation, 7/19/09, dark red/brown jennet.

Bell was born one day before my retirement from 34 years of service with BellSouth Telecommunications Company. We named Bell in honor of this long awaited day. This is Glorianna's fourth foal and her fourth jennet in a row! Bell is a full sister to Bedazzled who was purchased by Nissen's Lazy N Ranch in The 2004 Great American Donkey Sale in Ohio and who we just recently purchased back. She is also a full sister to Hey Sailor, and a half sister to Paper Tyger, both of who we have retained in our herd. Bell has a beautiful tiny head and she is very stocky and stout.

Bell was sold as a weanling and we purchased her when her previous owner went out of the donkey business. We have always regretted letting her go and we were so glad to have the opportunity to add her back to our herd. Ma Bell  has been hand bred to Napoleon for a foal due 10/27/11 when we last observed her in season, but they were together until 11/29/10. Photos and videos of Ma Bell taken on November 5th, 2009. Thank you to my new friend, Dena Wilson, for helping me take these fantastic photos of Ma Bell!

Bell has had one foal for her previous owner but we do not know the details other than she was a jennet.

Bell had the last foal of our season on 10/24/11, a gorgeous spotted jennet, Bells 'n' Whistles. You can see them both live by clicking our barn cam link!

Click MDR sticker to see Miniature Donkey Registry Pedigree Ten's complete pedigree!

Ten is a very dark gray jennet with no light points and a faded star on her forehead. She is a full sister to Stonegate Acres Ciara, NMDA Champion & Best of Breed winner, along with many other halter and performance wins. Ten has an awesome front and rear end on her, very full hindquarters, and has the most beautiful head you could ask for with a little dish face. And you couldn't ask for a sweeter, kinder temperament. You can do anything with her.

Ten rejected her first foal so we raised him on a bottle. We have rebred her to give her another chance to be a mom. Maybe she just was not mature enough to handle raising a foal. She has been trained for halter and trail obstacles by Wayne Lyon when she was a yearling so she should make a fantastic performance donkey.

Ten was pasture exposed to Heiken's Ark Napoleon. We last observed her in season on 3/26/11. She is now selling as guaranteed in foal! Ten is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile. She has a negative coggins report dated 6/3/11. She is microchipped and double registered in NMDA and Canada. The photos and videos above were taken on May 13th, 2011...the day after she was body clipped. Her coat color has turned much darker since that day.

Ten has a very slight underbite. It is well within the legal limit. Click here to see it. Her foal has a perfect bite.

Ten has produced one foal:

It's a gorgeous spotted girl with a short wide head just like my favorite donkey, Junebug.  She has a perfect bite, stocky straight legs...wide chest. Dark eyeliner all the way around one eye except for one tiny spot of pink in one corner and a half and half dark eyeliner on the other eye.  Cutie has deep halos around all of her spots which means they will never chang. We are thrilled with this girl!!  Rowdy and Tilly are a great match together!!

We really hate to part with Cute To Boot but we must reduce our numbers before the new donkeys we purchased arrive and my husband has a heart attack! LOL!! Cutie is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile, de-wormings, and hoof trims.

Holly's dam is a full sister to My World Buster. Holly was sold to a good friend of ours who works full-time and asked us to foal Holly out here at Half Ass Acres. Holly was hand-bred to PGF Peppercorn Jack from 6/4 thru 6/10/09.  She started her bag around the first week of May. After she foals she and her foal will be offered for sale again as our friend is having financial difficulities.

Update! Photos of Holly above were taken on June 22nd, 2010, two days after foaling Gentleman Jack. Holly is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile, hoof trims, and worming. She was given a booster of all vaccinations one month before her foal was born to give him extra immunity until he is old enough to be vaccinated (as all of our jennets are). Holly has an updated negative coggins report dated 10/10/11.

Holly was hand bred to Heiken's Ark Napoleon on 4/17/11 and they were left together until 4/27/11. It is too early to test her to be sure she is in foal so she is selling as exposed but not guaranteed. When we know for sure that she is in foal her price will be raised.

Holly is the dam of the following foals:

She is as black as coal with no cross. Rave also has a small star and beautiful head like her sire, Front and Center. Raven has the most beautiful unusual eyes that seem to be staying deep blue. Her grand dam, Tequila, also has blue eyes. Raven is stocky, correct, and very black. Her muzzle is now white she has lost the intermediate coloring. She has a beautiful and very unusual “blue” eye. (although, as ADMS explains, it is technically a “grey” eye unlike the blue pinto eye).

Raven is on the truck now on her way to Half Ass Acres. She is scheduled to arrive on Sunday 7/17/11 at 5pm. New photos will be taken of her soon! We are very excited to add her to our herd but very sad that Jane Savage of Flight of Fancy Miniatures is now retiring from the miniature donkey business. Jane has been a valuable asset to the miniature donkey world and a wonderful mentor to me.

Update! Raven has arrived and she is stunning. She is a blue-black without even a hint of a cross!

Cheetah was bred and born at Flight of Fancy Miniatures where they name most all their foals after aircraft. The Cheetah was a fighter aircraft operated by the South African Air Force. Cheetah means "spots" in the Indian language. This little jenny is stunning and is staying small. We are very pleased with her. She also has an unusual and beautiful “grey” eye that her sire “Beamer” has produced in so many of his offspring. She has a beautiful and very unusual “blue” eye. (although, as ADMS explains, it is technically a “grey” eye unlike the blue pinto eye).

Cheetah is on the truck now on her way to Half Ass Acres. She is scheduled to arrive on Sunday 7/17/11 at 5pm. New photos will be taken of her soon! One of our oldest jennets, Sheena, quickly approaching 20 years old certainly puts her “beauty marks” on her foals. Firefly seems to like the older women, too, and his pedigree carries through nicely in his foals.

We knew this elegant little girl was a knock-out the minute we laid eyes on her. She has a red/brown coat with precious bay pattern legs. The bay pattern leaves as they mature, but, for now, we are still admiring them as she dances and prances her way around the pastures.

We can truly say, “Zing! Went the Strings of My Heart” when we were able to see Heart standing up next to Sheena. Her head was held high looking right at us with determined eyes, and she was wearing that “look at me attitude”…..sturdy, straight legs, perfect bit, and ready to conquer the world. She appeared to even have a smile on her face..,..at that moment, “All nature seemed to be in perfect harmony, Zing! Went the strings of my heart.”

Heart Strings is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile, de-worming and hoof trims. She has a negative coggins report dated 3/23/11. She has been well started in obstacle trail and will trot beside you on command. She has been worked by a youth (our friend Katie Randall)) for several months. We sure hate to part with this little girl but we need to make room for our new foals that are arriving soon! We will discount her price to a show home or if you buy more than one donkey.

Bee was sold as a yearlling in 2004 and we were happy to welcome her back to Half Ass Acres in August of 2010. Bee is a full sister to Ma Bell, Hey Sailor and Miss HiFalutin. She is a half sister to Paper Tyger. Bee's last foal was born in August 2009 and she has not settled in foal since then for her previous owners. Bee is probably a barren jennet that will not be having anymore foals. We would like to place her in a forever pet home. She is very friendly and easy to handle. She is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile, de-wormings and hoof trims.

A big, big 'Thank You' to Dena Wilson who assisted me in Bee's photo shoot in 100 degree weather and never complained!  You are a true friend, Dena, and I really appreciate you!

Valerie is very small, stout, and correct with a great rear end...very hard to find that combination in a spot. We are offering Valerie for sale to a pet home along with her best friend, Roxanne. These jennets are in perfect health and up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile, hoof trims, and de-wormings. We feel that they do not need to be bred any more and want them to go to a forever pet home where they will be loved and appreciated.

    Sired by our own red herd sire, Firefly, and out of a spotted grand daughter of Gladybrooke Skp, this nice little lady is related to several of our favorite jennets already in our herd that are known superior producers. We purchased Fire Jumper at the same time we purchased Cotton Candy because they were already best friends and we didn't want them to be alone for the long and stressful trip from New Hampshire. We were delighted to have her! The photos and videos above were taken the day after Fire Jumper was body clipped. She has since darkened up from these photos. Thank you to Dena Wilson for her assistance with Jumper's photo session!

    Ebony is the sweatest little jennet. She is very gentle, loving and is a wonderful mother. Ebony doesn't bray...she sings. She always makes us laugh when she greets us. We are so happy to have Ebony in our herd. She always has beautiful, stocky babies.

    Photos of Ebony above taken on 10/31/10...six days after foaling. Her coat had been tinted red by the sun by the end of the summer when these photos were taken. Ebony really is just a very dark brown color when body clipped. It was too late in the year to clip her sunburned coat off for these photos. Abby is very drafty, with straight legs, a big round rear end and a chest to die for! She is as sweet as she is beautiful with a very flashy spot pattern. She is bred to Arcadian Yogi for a March 2011 foal.  Thank you once again to Dena Wilson for her expert assistance during Abby's photo session. It wasn't easy getting this very laid-back jennet to use her ears. She just wanted to go back to the pasture to eat more grass.  We love you anyway, Abby!  You have to see Abby in person to appreciate her true beauty.

    Abby is the dam to the following foals:

    Click MDR sticker to see Miniature Donkey Registry Pedigree Bell's complete pedigree!

    Bell is a very stocky little jennet. She is wide bodied, has good, straight legs and bone, and has the prettiest little dish face. We have always admired Bell's sire, Flight of Fancy Cardinal RG, and her grand sire, My World Winston, so we were very pleased to add her to our herd. I love this jennet but we are keeping her first foal and offering Bell for sale to keep our herd at a manageble number.  Bell has a nice round rear end, perfect bite with show quality conformation with a super wide chest to die for. She is friendly, sweet and a comical donkey to have around. She is easy to catch and handle. Bell is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile that she just had a booster of this week. She has a negative coggins report dated 6/10/10. I updated her papers last year with her mature update at 33 ¼" tall but she grew another quarter of an inch since then and she has matured at 33 ½". If you want to add bone and a gorgeous color to your herd you should seriously consider Bell Blue before I change my mind. Bell sells open as we let our jennets rest the year after they foal so she is ready to bred to your jack. She still has her foal on her side so we will gladly take payments until her foal is ready to be weaned in October. We will gladly allow you to make payments for up to six months if needed. Bell has been microchipped and DNA tested at The Texas A& M University.

    A special 'thank-you!' to my friend, Dena Wilson, who expertly handled Bell for her photo session. Without you , Dena, none of these great photos would be possible!

    Click MDR sticker to see Miniature Donkey Registry Pedigree Tina's complete pedigree!

    We purchased Tina after The Great American Miniature Donkey Sale on July 26th, 2008. She is very well balanced for such a small jennet. Tina should have been named Buttons and Bows as she has two identical bows on each of her sides right in front of her hips. She is such a tiny thing that we will wait until she is almost four years old to bred her for the first time. Photos and videos taken on November 7th, 2009. Thank you to my new friend, Dena, for helping me take these wonderful photos of tiny Tina! We received a comment from someone asking if Tina had an overbite because of the way she is holding her mouth in some of her photos. Tina has a dead on perfectly even bite. She was in season the day we took these photos and videos and she was just holding her mouth funny part of the time. She was not in the mood to have her photos taken and only wanted the treats we were holding. Again let me state that her bite is perfectly even as all of our breeding jennets are!!! If any of our donkeys have an unexceptable bite they are always sold as pets and never used for breeding.

    Tina is now with our junior herd sire, Black 'n' Blue (aka Bruise. We last observed her in season on 4/25/10.

    We acquired Joy from one of our friends that owns her sire. She could not retain Joy as she only has one herd sire. We swapped another one of our donkeys for her. Joy has been handled since birth and is super friendly. She has been started on trail obstacles as you can see by the video of her performing on YouTube with her handler, Katie! She is up to date on hoof trims, de-worming and vaccinations including East/West Enceph, Tetanus, Rhino, and Influenza. She has been microchipped to comply with the new Miniature Donkey Registry rules for 2010. She is also double registered in the Miniature Donkey Registry and The American Council of Spotted Asses Registry as well. Joy is just as sweet and friendly as she can be.

    Hailey is registered as 33 nches tall but we measure her to be 33¾ inches. She was vet tested by exterior ultra sound to be open but she has not come in 'season' since we have had her so we think we had her ultrasounded too soon and that she is really in foal for a summer 2010 baby. Her previous owner had her with her jack up until 6/16/09. Her pedigree is filled with reds including LN Redsonnehi, Winchester, and Jennie Sam of Bell E Acres. She is built like a tank with a nice round rear, heavy boned and very correct legs. She is very sweet, easy to catch and easy to handle. She is up to date on hoof trimming, vaccinations including West Nile, and worming. She has a negative coggins report dated 6/18/09. The photos and videos above were taken on August 4th, 2009, straight out of the pasture. She has not been body clipped. Only her mane and bridle path were trimmed. I can only imagine how beautiful this jennet would be if she were body clipped. We may offer her for sale again after we determine if she is already in foal or not.

    Update!! Hailey was vet checked on 10/20/09 by exterior ultrasound to be approxiamately 5 months in foal!

    2) Wit's End Shoeshine Boy
    Shoeshine Boy - copyright HAA Miniature Donkeys8/25/07, black jack.
    3) Geisha Girl, 4/20/09, very dark brown jennet.

    We loved Meggie Mae so well that we also purchased her half sister, Sissy. The only reason we are now offering Sissy for sale is because we have her duplicate bloodlines already in our herd. They don't come any sweeter or laid-back than Sissy. She is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile. She has a negative coggoins report dated 9/01/09. Sissy is microchipped to comply with the new Miniature Donkey Registry rules. She has been hand bred to Windcrest Firefly for a foal due on September 6th, 2010. She is still with Firefly now and we have not observed her back in season so we feel sure she is in foal. Since Sissy's dam is red so we feel that Sissy has a very good chance of producing a red foal from this pairing.

    Faith is from our breeding. We sold her dam when she was in foal and this baby was so nice that we just had to have her. We let the breeder's use their farm name as a prefix because we didn't think Half Ass Acres Have Faith would sound very nice! We have regretted selling Faith's dam who is sired by our original herd sire, Indy, so we are thrilled to add her foal to our future breeding program.

We measured her carefully on concrete and she is measuring just under 33 inches tall. Whoopsie is a very sweet jennet...easy to catch and easy to handle. The photos and videos above do not do him justice. I failed to get a photo of his super wide chest showing his very correct straight legs. His papers have not been sent in so I would be glad to register him with your farm name as a prefix. You should come and see this little guy in person. You can purchase Charm and her foal together or just Charm and we will keep her until her foal is weaned at no charge. Free delivery within 50 miles. Charm has had two foals in her lifetime. We LOVE this little gray, brown, rose-dun, or whatever color you may think Gussy is to you. All we know is it is very different color and she is as cute as it gets! She is truly a people pleaser and everyone falls in love with her as soon as they lay eyes on her.

    The minute she sees us coming she is running over to greet us. She appears to be all “gussied up” in her grayish, brownish, rose-dun, coat of many hues, and saying “come on let’s go.” She is eager to play, run, follow, and just have her nose in to everything going on in her little donkey world. “Miss Happy” should be her middle name as she enjoys everything and everyone. Big smiles appear on faces when they meet Gussy Up…..even Gussy seems to smile.

    We purchased Gussy’s mother, Emerald Ridge Piper, sight unseen, about a year ago. When we went to pick Piper up we could not believe our eyes. We were already in love with this little gray donkey that was going back to our farm. She was everything we had wanted in a little gray 'no light points' jennet. She sure gave us the cutest little “grayish, rose-dun” jennet in the world. We could not be more pleased with Piper and her little girl, Gussy.

    Feel free to drop by for a visit with Gussy and take a souvenir smile home with you. Sorry, but for now, Gussy is not for sale. We have fallen in love! Gussy is bff with Rocket.

    It seems every time we have a foal I say, "this one is the prettiest one ever!" We have been so blessed with so many gorgeous foals this year and each one is so special and unique. Rocket is another one that fits this description.

    In keeping with the Patriotic week of 9/11 we wanted to name this beautiful little jennet in remembrance of that day in history. May we never forget what happened the day that has forever changed our country and may "God continue to bless America."

    Can you believe we missed Rocket's birth? Yes, we left for only a few minutes to run get dinner just two miles down the road and our phone started ringing the minute we sat down to eat. The Mare Stare family was doing their usual outstanding job of notifying us that we had a jennet in labor. I rushed out of the restaurant, leaving Joe behind, and was home in 3 minutes. This outstanding little red jennet, Rocket, was on the stall floor greeting me and letting me know she was just fine and perfect in every way.

    After quickly cleaning the stall I ran back to the restaurant to pick up Joe and we both came back to enjoy the beauty of Rocket, our newly born little girl.

    Bridget has always been a jennet we loved and we even owned her at one time when she, herself, was a tiny little girl. When we recently had the opportunity to purchase her again we did and are so happy to have her back with us at our farm. Rocket is the same beautiful color as Bridget and is the "spitting image" of her mother. You see she, too, is perfect in every way. She is stocky, perfect bite, straight legs, fantastic head, and that friendly personality that we all like to experience in our donkeys.

    Rocket lights up our eyes as we admire her beauty, lights up our hearts with her endearing personality, and lights up our farm as she mingles with the other donkeys that are quickly becoming her friends. Our patriotic little girl will wave true in our hearts and at our farm forever!! (that's right, she is 'Not For Sale' at this time!). Rocket is bff with Gussy Up.

Update...Moxie is home from training and we were so pleased with the results that we sent another one of our babies home with Kathy. Our little Moxie is a perfect lady now..trained to trot practically in place beside you and well started in trail obstacles. We are just thrilled with her. We highly recommend Kathy Loudamy for training your next little champion!!

    Photos above were taken on November 1st, 2008, straight out of the pasture for her three year old registration update. She measured 31" tall and we think she is finished growing!

    Moxie is the dam of one foal:

    1) Picaboo Sweet, 5/08/09, dark brown jennet.

    We had no intentions of selling our precious Moxie but we were

    We just purchased this little girl at the Great American Donkey Sale in August of 2009. She will turn three years old at the end of this month but we will wait for the weather to cool off before we bred her. We are trying to decide whether to cross her with Pepper or Firefly. This will be Nerissa's first foal. Thank you to Double B Farm for offering this tiny girl at the sale and giving us an opportunity to purchase her and thank you to Ed and Angela Preston for pointing her out to us and telling us we needed her or she would have slipped through our fingers.

    Eight Belles was named after the gray filly that ran to her death in the Kentucky Derby. She had lots of heart and so does this little girl. Belles is square and straight and has beautiful legs on her with lots of width and bone. Her dam has produced multiple champions.

    We had no intentions of selling this adorable girl but when my great friend, Sandy Dorris, decided to have donkeys again we let her have Eight Belles since she is sired by Wit's End's herd sire that they owned for years and years When Sandy owns a donkey I feel like it is still my donkey so it doesn't feel like I have sold her at all.

    Calamity is very tiny but also very correct! She is one of our sweetest jennets.

    Calamity is the dam of the following foals:

    1) Windcrest Calliope, 5/13/01, dark brown jennet;
    2) HHAA Sweet As MO-lasses, 5/04/03, brown gelding;
    3) HHAA How Big a Boy 'R Ya', 9/18/05, brown gelding.

    Calamity was tested negative for pregnancy by an exterior ultrasound machine vet test on 11/18/08. Calamity is with our dark red herd sire, Firefly, now but we do not think she is in foal since she has not settled in foal since 2005. The last time we observed her in season was 3/20/09. Therefore we are selling her as a barren jennet. They don't come any sweeter and easier to handle than this jennet. She is up to date on all vaccinations (including West Nile), hoof trims and de-worming.

    Oprah has outstanding conformation and no light points. She has a nice round rear and a front end on her as wide as a mack truck. She and her foal have perfect bites. She is registered as a smokey black but she is what is now called by the registration a very dark brown. She has no light points..even her belly is dark. Oprah has had six foals in her lifetime... five jennets and one jack and all of them are show quality! She is one of our very best producing jennets. Photos above were taken on November 1st, 2008, at 13 years of age. Oprah has a fallen crest but it hasn't stopped her from producing beautiful babies.

Shazam hated to be body clipped so her show careeer ended early. The two times she was shown by Kathy she placed third in NMDA Foals at Halter class at the 2005 Dallas State Fair out of a class of fourteen and was again 3rd in a huge foal class at the 2006 Houston Livestock Show. Shazam was bred and raised by Frank and Mary Williams. She has been bred to our dark spotted herd sire, Napoleon. Her first foal should be due July 19th, 2009. The delicate color of champagne and the sweetness of homemade jam all wrapped up in this precious sorrel spotted jennet. She is simply beautiful displaying her blanket of soft pink as she makes herself so available to us as we enter her paddock. She runs to greet us every time she see us and rubs against us showing how much she enjoys being with people. We have to be very careful when we leave her paddock as she would walk right on out with us. Jammy is truly a people/lap donkey.

    Here we are with every kind of technology in our home and barn to help us watch for our jennets when they go in to labor. But this little one picked a very unusual time to be born….6:00 p.m. and we were not on watch at that time. We had just finished having a 2 day donkey clinic at our farm and were worn out! Imagine our surprise when we went to check the foaling monitor and found this beautiful spotted jennet still wet and just barely up on her feet for the first time. A real “toast” is due to Windcrest Tangerine Twist and Ass-pirin Acres Spectacular for a job well done with their little girl. There is not a sweeter jennet in the world than her dam, Tangerine, and Jammy has certainly inherited tons of sweetness from her mom….and wants to share it all! Jammie has a perfect bite and dark eyeliner completely around both eyes.A special 'thank you' to Jeffrey Roberts for thinking of the perfect name for this little girl! We know Tickled Pink will be a great addition to any herd after she turns three years of age. A big special 'thank you' to Jeff Randall for helping us take these fantastic photos! Fancy was purchased from Mini J's Farm in Ohio last year. She is registered as dark brown and white spotted but her spots are visually as black as can be. They don't come any friendlier than this little girl. She would rather be petted than eat. She has a very comical personality that keeps us entertained. Thank you to The Price family for helping us take these fantastic photos!

    We hated to part with Fancy but we had to reduce our numbers.
    Facny's breeders had first refusal rights so she is going back home!

    Daphne is a sweetheart of a donkey with a beautiful head. She has a lot of roaning throughout her coat. Daphne was checked NOT in foal by an exterior ultrasound at UT vet school in Knoxville on 11/19/07. We have owned her for over six months and her previous owner had her for two years. Since she has never had a foal according to her breeder we are now offering Daphne as a barren jennet. You could not ask for a sweeter jennet. Easy to catch and work with and up to date on all vaccinations. She would make a fantastic driving donkey, companion or just a wonderful pet. She will have a current negative coggins and a health certificate if sold out of state.

    Surprise, surprise...after Daphne was sold as a barren jennet she foaled on

    This is a very, very extra special little girl for more reasons than one! Hula is a true black who tried so hard to be a no light points jennet and she almost made it except for one tiny smudge on the bridge of her nose and tiny little eye rings...everything else is totally black...even the inside of her ears and her belly. Hula Hoop was sent for training to Kathy Loudamy's K&K Ranch in Texas!

    Update! First time and only time shown....Hula Hoop shown by Kathy Loudamy places 5th out of 14 entries in Miniature Donkey Yearlings at Halter class at the Texas A&M Horseman's Association Donkey & Mule Show November 18th, 2006. We are very proud! Thank you, Kathy!!

This very special jennet is named "Ima Red Ray" in honor of my red-headed Mother! Don't worry...my Mother would be very flattered! I can hear her laughing now...when she laughed it sounded like little bells ringing. Red Ray was bred to our new spotted herd sire, Napoleon, expecting a July 2007 foal. This will be her first foal.

    We purchased this little beauty from Big Woods Farm. She was shown for the first time by Leana Lefrapper (for Big Woods Farm) at the 2004 ADMS Nationals Cheers For Ears Show and won! She was shown three other times that year and was 2nd in miniature halter jennets at the NMDA Bedford County Fair, 2nd in miniature halter jennets at the Virginia State Fair Mule & Donkey Show, and 2nd in miniature halter jennets at the Dixie Classic Mule & Donkey Show. Image is bred to Big Woods Burr Foxx, a gorgeous dark red sorrel that is already wining big in the show ring! Update! Image was tested for pregnancy through an estrone sulfate blood test and she was positive!

    Update! 12/12/06..we woke up to quite a surprise...Image had her foal in the maternity ward early this morning. A tiny very dark brown jennet with a gorgeous tiny head. She is perfect in every way!

    The secret is out....National Champion Circle C Motown's Secret has been gelded and this is his last foal!! His legacy will live on with this nice heavy-boned little girl! Outie is just as sweet and friendly as she can be. She is registered as black with a cross but I believe she is really a very dark brown or black/brown although her coat is very sun-burned. She is up to date on vaccinations, hoof trims and de-worming. She has a negative coggins report dated June 8th, 2007. We forgot to measure her the day we took these photos but I will measure her again the next time I have her at the barn. I expect her to mature somewhere between 33" to 34" tall. She has a perfect bite and she travels very straight with correct legs. It was too dang hot to ask my husband to stay out any longer in the hot sun to take vidoes today. All the above photos were taken on June 26th, '07. I can promise you that you will be very pleased with the quality of Secret's Out.

    Talk about making temperatures RISE! This little girl can certainly do that to you. She definitely has that "look at me attitude" as she carries her head high and clips around the Spring grass smelling all the trees and blooming flowers. (Well, not anymore as we are in a drought!) What a refreshing little one and just as sweet as they come.

    Spring wears her "genes" very well and it is easy to see those great bloodlines from The Fireman and 'My World'. No doubt she will be a fantastic addition to some lucky family as a show girl, brood jennet or just to love on all day long. She is all about melting your heart with those big eyes, her upright head, straight legs, and a personality that makes YOU feel like the special one. We purchased this little girl in a package deal from Wit's End Farm while on her mother's side. This little girl is definitely a show prospect with outstanding conformation. She has a perfect bite, round rear, straight legs, very heavy boned and a wide, wide chest. Enjoy her in the showring until she is old enough to retire to your brood jennet pasture. Photos above were taken on August 26th, 2007. Thank you to Sandy Dorris for setting up Spring for her photo shoot! Great job, Sandy!

    Spring has a negative coggins report dated June 8th, 2007, and she has been vaccinated with her first set of vaccinations plus her boosters of Eastern/Western/Tetanus/Rhino/Influenza.

    Fizz is about as sweet and friendly as they come. Her first foal, Belle, is truly adorable and has such a cute personality. Fizz basically spit herself out with this sweet girl only she is even better! She is stocky as can be, straight legs, perfect bite. Her beautiful pink color is outstanding and shows the marking of the cross nicely across and down her back. Cimmaron, the sire, has left his mark on Belle with his fantastic bloodline. These girls are so beautiful in their pink attire and will add so much color to your herd of donkeys. If they are not sold by the time Belle is weaned they will be priced separately. It is going to be so very hard to part with these two!! Fizz has a negative coggins report dated 7/23/07.

    Pixie did not even hit the 30" mark when we measured her!! Pixie has never had a foal. This is just about the cutest little donkey you will ever lay your eyes on. She looks like a little stuffed toy. Pixie is used as a baby sitter for our weaned foals and sometimes as a companion for one of our jacks. She has never had a foal and is being sold as 'barren'. She would make a wonderful pet or companion animal. She is up to date on vaccinations, deworming, and hoof trims. She will be sold with a negative coggins report and complete health records.

    We are really happy with this girl! She is our Andiamo daughter replacement for her half sister that I let someone talk me out of not long ago. A special 'thank you' to Jack Pentland for posing this little girl for these great photographs!

    Exciting News!! Dory has been sent to Kathy Loudamy at K&K Ranch in Texas for conditioning, training, and showing! We were so pleased with the first two foals we sent to Kathy for 110 days of training that we decided to send another baby home with her. We have confidence in Kathy's ability to make Dory a fine little show donkey too!

    This little girl would have never been offered for sale if we were not building an expensive arena and we just simply needed the money! She is one of our very finest! She has been well started in green trail with three months of training by Kathy Loudamy.
